Itinerary
Day 1 – 3 : Bateleur Camp
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya, you will make your own way to the arrivals hall, where you will be welcomed by a member of our Brothers Safaris team. A member from our Brothers Safaris team collect you from Jomo Kenyatla International Airport and drive you to Wilson Airport. Your scheduled flight from Wilson Airport .
The quintessential Masai Mara safari delivers many attractions and is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game as well as the two million animals that make up the Great Migration. Reawaken your soul during your 2 night stay at Bateleur Camp in a spacious Tent with ensuite bathroom with shower only and a private deck. Your stay includes accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, scheduled safari activities, return Kichwa Tembo airstrip transfers and laundry.

Situated below the location where Out of Africa’s famous final scene was filmed, this romantic and totally private camp reflects the ambience of Kenyan safaris of the 20’s and 30’s. Bateleur Camp at Kichwa Tembo, the epitome of tented luxury, is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and comprises just two intimate camps of nine tented suites each, set among the forests on the edge of the Masai Mara. The tented suites have a classic elegance with polished wooden floors and ensuite bathrooms. Each tent has its own deck overlooking the vast game-filled plains of the Masai Mara, and a personal butler will ensure every need is catered for.
Beautiful antiques adorn the comfortable sitting and indoor/outdoor dining areas, transporting guests to the heyday of classic safaris. The Camps also feature deep refreshing lap pools. Day 3 – 5 : Lake Manyara Tree Lodge
Depart the Masai Mara on your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport, for your scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will depart on your scheduled flight to Manyara airstrip where you will be met by a representative from Lake Manyara Tree Lodge who will transfer you by game drive to the lodge.
Lake Manyara National Park offers a wilderness experience in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Apart from a spectacular setting, the park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds it was established to protect. (Approximately 3.5 hours). Marvel at nature’s beauty during your 2 night stay at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge in an elegant Stilted Treehouse with ensuite bathroom with bath, outdoor shower and viewing deck. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, scheduled safari activities, refreshments on game drives and laundry.

On day 4 enjoy a leisurely afternoon bike ride through the nearby Mayoka community is hosted throughout by an expert guide. Guests can cycle through this bustling village and interact with the friendly, local people. They may even cross paths with the nomadic Mang’ati tribe (also known as the Datooga tribe), adorned with traditional animal skin cloaks, textured skirts and colourful beads. Once your guests have left the village behind, they can peddle on a picturesque route to the lakeshore, where they can admire bright pink flocks of flamingos.
After dinner you will head out onto your night game drive. Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is one of the few places in Tanzania where guests can experience evening game drives, and the opportunity to encounter sightings of nocturnal predators.

Set in the heart of a mahogany forest, Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge in Lake Manyara National Park. The Lodge, which was designed to exert minimal impact on the environment, is situated in the remote southwestern region of the Park. Cradled in the boughs of ancient mahogany trees, ten stilted treehouse suites are a sophisticated blend of intimacy and romance, offering privacy and exclusivity. Each treehouse suite features generous decks suspended above the forest floor and large windows to invite the lush forest inside. The bathrooms have freestanding baths with a forest view and an outdoor shower. Overlooking a forest boma (outdoor dining area), guest areas are characterised by soaring spaces. An interactive kitchen allows guests to observe the preparation of delicious Pan African food that is enjoyed in the boma, on dining decks or on private viewing decks. Breakfasts and picnics are also served on the lakeshore.
Before entering Lake Manyara National Park, be sure to stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint. Here, you can enjoy a picture-perfect view of Lake Manyara and the surrounding escarpment. Ask your guide to take you to the Maji Moto springs (Maji Moto means ‘hot water’ in Kiswahili). These hot water springs are a unique geological feature found nowhere else in Tanzania, and it is said that the water will boil an egg in 30 minutes! Spend some quality time with a Maasai warrior who will teach you how to build a fire using two sticks, and challenge you to a jumping and spear throwing competition!
Day 5 – 7 : Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
A member from our team will drive you, and fellow guests, from Lake Manyara Tree Lodge to Manyara to meet your onward arrangements. The drive takes your through Lake Manyara National Park which means you have one more opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of this unique wilderness (Approximately 3.5 hours). You will then be met by a member of our andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge team who will drive you, and fellow guests, from Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. (Approximately 1.5 hours).
Indulge and explore at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge during your 2 night stay in a Suite with ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, scheduled safari activities, refreshments on game drives and laundry.

Perched on the edge of the Crater rim, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge’s sumptuous safari suites present breath-taking views. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud and stick manyatta (homestead), this is without doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa. Three separate and intimate camps are reminiscent of a bygone era totalling just 30 suites in all. Steeped in romance, each stilted, handcrafted mud and thatch suite is adorned with graceful antiques and grand chandeliers. The bedroom, sitting room and ensuite bathroom boast floor-to-ceiling glass windows, overlooking the magnificent Crater below. Ensuite bathrooms, with a centerpiece of red roses, feature huge showers and chandelier-lit bathtubs. Personal butlers discreetly tend to guests’ every need, bringing tea in bed, stoking fireplaces and drawing luxurious baths. Described as “Maasai meets Versailles”, each camp has its own guest sitting and dining areas and viewing decks. The domed dining room, with its grand fireplace, turns every meal into a special occasion.
Spend an afternoon learning how to create beautiful Maasai beadwork with Papai, one of our Maasai Mamas. Witness the resident zebra drinking from the water tap outside of the Safari Shop – they have taught themselves to open the tap themselves! You absolutely have to try the Lodge’s famous fudge (our chefs will share the recipe if you like!)
Day 7 – 9 : Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp
A member of our team will drive you, and fellow guests, from Ngorongoro Crater Lodge to Manyara Airstrip in time for your onward arrangements. (Approximately 1.5 hours). You will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight from Manyara Airstrip to Grumeti airstrip.
Situated in the Western Serengeti, the Grumeti area offers an unmatched wildlife experience. Lying right in the path of the Great Migration and its dramatic river crossings, it is also home to exceptional resident game year round. Expect adventure during your 2 night stay at Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp in a Flamboyant Tent with ensuite bathroom with open air shower. Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, scheduled safari activities, refreshments on game drives and laundry.
Included activities a Game Drives. Recommended activities at an additional cost are Hot Air Ballooning or a Lake Victoria Full Day Trip.
Inspired by Tanzania’s annual Great Migration, Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is situated near one of the most famous fording points used by the wildebeest as the cross the Grumeti River in an area that is home to exceptional year-round resident wildlife. Rustic yet sophisticated, the intimate tents combine hues of natural grey with accents of natural stone and bone. All ten of the tented suites look out onto the Grumeti River and its resident pods of hippo, while sliding doors open out onto shaded private decks. Stone shower towers are open to the sun and stars. Two of the tents have been designed to cater for families travelling together and share and an enclosed entrance lobby that can allows easy access between the tents while maintaining complete privacy. A dramatic boma is the setting for open-air dinners with delicious food prepared in traditional stone ovens. A rim-flow swimming pool looks out onto the banks of the river.
Be sure to try one of the camp’s famously delicious pizzas at lunch time – as a guest once said, “The pizzas at Grumeti rival those I get at home in Naples!” Enjoy a leisurely lunch on the pool deck overlooking four different pods of resident hippo grunting and splashing about. This is some of the best hippo viewing in Tanzania! Sip a refreshing sundowner on Masira Hill. This beautiful spot overlooks two different plains of the vast Serengeti, and, on a clear day, you can even see Lake Victoria in the distance.
Day 9 : transit
This morning you will depart on your scheduled flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport, here you will connect to your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport You will be met on arrival at Wilson Airport by a member of the &Beyond team who will assist you with a road transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
